The Journal Revista de Defesa da Concorrência (RDC) repudiates the artificial citation of articles or authors in order to manipulate the impact factor in indexing mechanisms.

Therefore, the Editorial Team will act to verify and avoid the manipulation of citations, which is an act considered as editorial bad practice by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

Authors, in their articles, must only cite their own previous work if the article reviewed effectively addresses a related topic and there is a concrete contribution to the debate analyzed therein.

External reviewers, in their opinions, may only recommend their own works if the article reviewed effectively addresses a related topic and there is a concrete contribution to the debate analyzed therein.

Artificial citation gives rise to the following sanctions:

  • Immediate rejection of the paper.
  • Immediate rejection of any other paper submitted to the Journal Revista de Defesa da Concorrência by any of the authors of the paper.
  • Suspension, for a period of two years, of new submissions by any of the authors, even if in co-authorship.
