RDC Launches Its First 2026 Issue with Studies on Digital Markets, Enforcement, and Sustainability
Posted on 2026-07-14The Revista de Defesa da Concorrência (RDC), the scientific journal of Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade), has launched volume 14, issue 1, corresponding to the first half of 2026. The new issue features ten articles examining different theoretical and empirical perspectives on competition policy.
The topics covered include the digital transformation of markets, the development of business ecosystems, interoperability, the implementation of the European Union’s Digital Markets Act, and the use of traditional economic tools in the analysis of digital platforms. The issue also presents studies on antitrust fines, exclusivity agreements in the beverage market, and the effects of the privatization of Liquigás.
The relationship between competition and sustainability is also addressed through an analysis of environmental joint ventures. From an international perspective, one article examines the adoption of mandatory compliance programs as a remedial measure in cartel cases in Peru. The issue also revisits aspects of the historical development of Brazilian competition law through the career and work of Benjamin M. Shieber.
The new issue is being launched at a time of significant institutional progress for the RDC. Recent achievements include the journal’s advancement to the A2 category in the Qualis Periódicos classification of the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (Capes), as well as the awarding of the Diamond Journal Seal by Miguilim/Ibict, in recognition of the adoption of good practices in editorial quality, open science, and open access.
The publication also marks the renewal of the Editorial Coordination and the beginning of Commissioner Camila Cabral Pires Alves’s term as editor-in-chief of the RDC, continuing the work previously carried out by former Commissioner Victor Oliveira Fernandes.
All articles are freely available in PDF and HTML formats on the journal’s website. The RDC is published twice a year, does not charge submission or publication fees, and provides immediate open access to its scientific content.
